The path to the Royal Hong Kong yacht club is tough to find, you have to duck through an alleyway and pass through a looong dimly lit tunnel. But I made it, and sat down for yet another interview: I was spending almost half my time talking to sailors, understanding what they liked and disliked about their existing sailing gear. It was our task as Aqua Nomad to take the good, leave the bad, and add the better. And we did. But who’s we? Well, this below is us. Many years ago.

Two cousins, lifetime sailors, friends, and now business partners.

My name’s Levent, I’m product manager at Aqua Nomad. I started off sailing Optimists and have progressed through Lasers and now into Sportboats. I was tasked to work on this exciting project by my cousin and also sailor based in Hong Kong, Cem (pronounced as in “gem” stone, it’s weird I know). He is an industrial engineer by weekday, sailor by weekend, and founder of Aqua Nomad.

We’re working on Aqua Nomad because we care about reducing plastic in our oceans, and sailing well. Through fabrics made of recycled ocean plastic, exciting functionality, and great style, Aqua Nomad has been born. We’re excited to have you with us on this journey. Please, feel free to get in touch with us anytime.

Take care,
Levent
